The LCTC is a Local Tranportation Commission responsible for distributing Local Transportation Fund (1/4 cent sales tax) revenue to local agencies for transit services.
Each year the LCTC allocates transit funding to the Lassen Transit Service Agency for the operation of the Lassen Rural Bus System, which is the regional publicly owned and operated transit system.
In addition the LCTC is also the Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) for Lassen County. The LCTC’s key responsibilities as the RTPA include the preparation of the Regional Transportation Plan and the Regional Transportation Improvement Program. These documents prioritize and program funding for major highway projects within Lassen County.
