Community Development Block Grant Program
Lassen County is an active participant in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Each year the CDBG Program makes funds available to the eligible cities and counties through a competitive application process. Successful applicants enter into contracts with the State to complete the activities awarded with the grant funds. More information about the CDBG Program is available at the California Department of Housing and Community Development website.
Every other year, Lassen County may apply under the General and Economic Development Allocations of the CDBG Program. Potential projects under the General Allocation include single- and multi-family rehabilitations, rental housing acquisition or homeownership assistance, activities that support new housing construction; public improvements; community facilities; public services; and studies and plans for housing, public works, and community facilities. Potential projects under the Economic Development Allocation include business financial assistance, business technical assistance, and studies and plans for economic development activities.
The County expects to apply for CDBG funding in early 2017. If you have an idea for a CDBG activity, please complete the CDBG Request for Assistance form (COMING SOON).
