The Lassen County food safety program is responsible for the enforcement of laws and regulations regarding all food facilities which serve food to the public. We carry out this responsibility by inspecting permanent, mobile and temporary food facilities. Additionally, we investigate complaints, review and approve food facility plans for compliance with state laws and work closely with food facility operators to ensure compliance with the states minimum food safety standards. The purpose of the program is to protect the public from food borne illness and to insure that food being served to the public is unadulterated and from an approved source.
